The declining sun colours
Masseria Montelauro with pink and violet shades, giving a new
perspective to the landscape and softening contours. In this
dreamy atmosphere, swallows skim the surface of the swimming-pool
to water. In the evening in Montelauro the air is thick with
scents and perfumes from our kitchen, reserved for our guests.
The night is full of promises: from the living room, the panoramic
terrace offers a grandiose view of the starry sky; there you
can taste raisin wine sitting on carpets and cushions, but then
the curtain is raised before Otranto: a land of spectacular
shows and surprises in a Medieval setting characterised by alleys
surrounding the castle, and night clubs perching on rocky cliffs
and
finally you go back to you room, where the lantern is lit and
the heat of the day dissolves with the night breeze |

The Masseria has 29 rooms;
2 suites and 1 junior suite are located in an ancient monastery.
The Mediterranean atmosphere of the decoration and furniture,
and a passion for unpretentious hospitality make our offer unique,
as it is the case with our Salento cuisine: long forgotten dishes,
that however cannot be forgotten once tasted.
Every room has a separate entrance opening onto the garden,
has been carefully furnished, and comes with all comforts: air-conditioning,
telephone, Internet connection on request, mini-bar, swimming-pool
towel, safe, TV.

At Montelauro, guests are
woken up by the sun's rays lighting up the stone vaulted ceiling
of the rooms, and by the chirping of swallows and doves inhabiting
our garden.
While breakfast is served below the pergola, guest will ponder
at leisure whether to relax by the swimming-pool or go to the
beach, whether to go horse-riding or for a bicycle ride, whether
to take a walk among drywalls and olive trees or discover the
view of the finis terrae previously seen from the boat
and they may also discover that a Salento cuisine, or a Tai
Chi course has been scheduled.
Whatever the choice made, guests will be charmed by the harmony
of this land through the magic of its colours, perfumes and
people.
