Like a precious stone, Masseria Spetterrata is set in a 37 hectare olive orchard, sloping from the Pine-tree grove of Cisternino half-way down the hill, commanding a beautiful view of the sea. Its origins date back to the 16th century.
Recently restored fully respecting its original features (there are still witnesses of the old feudal lords, the Knights of Malta), it is an ideal place for those wishing to spend a quiet golfing holiday in Apulia, providing for physical and mental well-being.

The small restaurant of Masseria Spetterrata, located within its ancient walls, is also open to the public, and offers traditional and creative cuisine, Mediterranean style, mostly based on ingredients such as vegetables, oil, and herbs organically grown in the farm. Naturally, dishes include traditional specialities, from home-made pasta (orecchiette, cavatelli with chick peas and mussels, laganari, and tagliatelle made of chestnut flour) to lemon-scented lamb, almond cake and walnut bread.   There are four apartments with separate entrance, of different sizes (from 40 square metres to 100 square metres, with a 50 square metre terrace and a view of the sea), equipped with heating, and so cool in the summer as not to require air conditioning, in Arte Povera style, fully furnished dining room with kitchenette, TV, private bath, open all year round. The apartments can accommodate from two to eight persons, depending on unit type.   Equidistant from Bari, Lecce and Taranto (50 Km approximately), from the masseria guests may easily visit famous places such as: Ostuni (the White City), the Salento peninsula, the Trulli of Alberobello, the Caves of Castellana, etc.
A few kilometres from the masseria there lies the beautiful Adriatic coast, with sandy and rocky beaches. Here are to be found equipped and public or solitary beaches. Nearby there are the famous Torre Canne Baths, the Archaeological Museum of Egnathia, the San Domenico Golf Course for golfing holiday in Apulia, windsurfing school, riding grounds, and the Fasano Safari Park.
Mediterranean cuisine courses are available, and guests may tour the area by bicycle or jog.

The farm, which has been resorting to organic farming techniques for over a decade, and is a member of the AIAB (the Italian Organic Farming Association), sells its excellent Protected Denomination of Origin extra-virgin olive oil, Collina di Brindisi; in addition, other products such as different types of Rosolios (lemon, cherry, mint, quince, walnut, etc…), as well as home made tarallucci, preserves, tomatoes preserved in oil, crushed olives, etc.. are on sale.
